Funny enough, that summer when Sugar Rush was out on Channel 4 was the summer that i sat my GCSEs and found out this former friend of mine is a les. Like Louise said when watching this series,it really really strongly reminded me of her!!!!!! The story line is simple, it revolves around a gay 15 year old girl, Kim's love life and her other problems, who moved to the Centre of the universe, ahem, Brighton, according to my geography teacher, Mr. B. Kim developed a massive crush on her new best friend, Sugar. The only problem is Sugar is straight! So the story is basically about the heartache of unrequired love, especailly when the girl of your dream doesn't fancy girl at all. The series also deal with other teenage problem like other typical teenage drama. The plot is actually really dark, I mean, when is unrequired love be happy? And no one finds your parents divorce hilarious, right? But, the director handled all this with a sense of humour, and the script is so witty, you will just burst out laughing in te most unappropriate situation. Of course, it also win us lots of awwwwwwww from time to time, such as when Kim slept with the boy next door, Tom, just to used him to get over Sugar and lost her virginity. So when she dumped him, in the harshed way possible, you gotta be feeling sorry for the poor guy. One thing I really cannot understand is why the hell on earth will a girl like Kim fancy Sugar, and stick by her side through thick and thin no matter how much she makes her life miserable? Sugar is described as a self centred, shameless, selfish b*tch!!!!! It seems to me that Kim only fancies her because, well, Sugar has a big, massive pair of boobs That is the part I don't get in the series. But boys, if you expect something erotic in the drama, then I will suggest to watch porn instead, because there isn't much action. I guess teenage lesbian and gay will enjoy it because it captures the essence of their lives.
