简介：

Drama surrounding the travels of an academic who heads to Leningrad to attend the funeral of an old friend. The film's action advances through a series of flashbacks of the two old friends, their experiences in World War II and the academic rise and prominent Soviet scientist and his subsequent repression of his work by the government.
